Passion. Elegance. Soul.

Laura was classically trained at The Guildhall School of Music in London and focussed her earlier years on opera, before switching over permanently to indulge her deep passion for singing jazz.
With her very distinctive tone, Laura enjoys performing a wonderful mix of jazz standards recorded over the years by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, Peggy Lee, Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, Etta James, Nina Simone and many more . Anything from ‘Fly Me To The Moon’, to latin jazz including ‘Girl From Ipanema’ plus some beautiful, less widely recognised, jazz pieces like ‘I Fall In Love Too Easily’, ‘It Could Happen To You’, ‘What’s New’ and ‘Desafinado’.
Whether performing sultry standards, swinging rhythms, or soulful ballads, Laura’s performances celebrate the enduring beauty of jazz classics while embracing her own unique style. From intimate venues to grand stages, she effortlessly creates a connection with her audience.
Laura also has the privilege of working with some extremely talented jazz musicians, who join her across the South East and London at the many hotels, wineries, bars, restaurants, jazz clubs, event venues (weddings, parties, corporate events etc…) and private venues, where she performs.
Laura can be booking as a solo act performing to professional jazz backing tracks, or with her musician friends as a jazz duo, trio, quartet or quintet.
Beyond her love of singing, Laura loves to travel, is a nature lover and a foodie, and is also a yoga instructor, teaching private clients and classes, helping others achieve calm, balance, flexibility and strength in their lives. These diverse passions enrich her artistry, allowing her to draw inspiration from her experiences and bring depth to her performances.
“Every time I get to share my love of jazz with an audience, I’m reminded how lucky I am. It’s a true privilege” – Laura Lawton
